Vice President Leni Robredo stated that the likelihood of a Bongbong Marcos–Sara Duterte combo benefits her and her running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
The presidential daughter became a popular subject on social media after announcing that she will not run for reelection as mayor again, although as of this writing, she has not specified her future step.
In a recent interview, her close friend, Representative Joey Salceda, stated that the presidential daughter's choice will be made public before November 15, the deadline for registering a substitute of candidacy.
Mayor Sara's decision elicited a wide range of emotions and guesses online. Political observers have also expressed their thoughts on what the female politician's next step may be.
During a recent news conference, Vice President Leni Robredo was asked to comment on this. She stated that the revelation of Mayor Sara's withdrawal from the race, as well as her suspected relationship with the former Senator, did not surprise her. "Even before we decided, ineexpect na namin ito," the presidential candidate remarked, according to a tweet by ABS-CBN reporter Adrian Ayalin.
She also said that they know that there is a great possibility that this scenario will take place. “Tingin ko it can work to our advantage at dahil mas klaro kung sino, ano yung pinaglalaban, ano yung mga paniniwala, tingin ko pag nangyari ito, yun yung magiging resulta na mas magiging defined yung mga linya,” the Vice President said.
When Senator Kiko Pangilinan was asked about this, he echoed the statement of the Vice President. “Talagang mas magiging klaro, kung gusto nila yung ginagawa ng administrasyon ngayon ay tuloy tuloy ay dun sila,” he said. Source: Adrian Ayalin Read the article on philnews.ph >
